When natural elements conspire to create emergencies in remote, rough and hostile landscapes, having the right access vehicles at the ready will make a world of difference to overall success.
Public Safety Training & Response Group specialises in safety training and emergency response services, and has fleet of land-based vehicles available within its stable of emergency assets, to provide access for first responders to emergency zones on demand.
“When our communities are met with a bushfire, storms, damaging cyclones, and flooding, it’s a case of all hands on deck, and utilising the various assets needed to attack the emergency head on – reliable motor vehicles form part of any attack plan,” says Trevor Arnold ESM, General Manager Operations at Public Safety Training & Response Group.
“We have the right vehicles, well-maintained, with the size, muscle, reliability and carrying capacity to get to a disaster zone quickly, and bringing the right equipment with us – this is a service available to local councils and government, to help communities respond well to an emergency and help them bounce back better.”
Introducing the Unimog 4WD Truck
The Mercedes Unimog 4WD truck is the big leader of the land-based fleet of machines owned and operated by the Group, and available to serve communities in need – watch VIDEO as to why it’s regarded by many as the world’s most capable 4WD truck.
The Unimog high-clearance vehicle is not only visually impressive, but it is designed ready to traverse challenging bush terrains with ease (watch VIDEO of a Unimog in action), ensuring access to those difficult-to-reach areas often encountered in emergency scenarios.
“The Unimog is big, tough, resilient, stocked with all manner of essential equipment, and ready to be set up in a variety of configurations that provide response teams with the essential resources in one rugged response vehicle,” says Mr Arnold.
“Our truck can be configured for rescues – complete with hydraulic rescue equipment, remote control swift water rescue buoy, high pressure airbags, chainsaws and more – or as a flatbed for logistics and stores movement.
“This truck can also be configured with an inbuilt shower and accommodation for longer stays out in the field.”
If required, the Public Safety Training & Response Group Unimog service can be staffed with Australian and International Flood Rescue Technicians, a registered Paramedic and highly qualified medics.
The Unimog is joined by our other fleet vehicles, two Dodge Ram 2500 and our Ford Everest Command Vehicle.
“Whether responding to natural disasters, floods, or rugged terrains, these vehicles together provide the necessary mobility options to reach the emergency site and victims swiftly,” says Mr Arnold.
4WD access to remote and challenging locations
The Dodge Ram 2500 is an exemplary emergency response vehicle, a 4WD that seamlessly combines rugged reliability and stability with advanced capabilities. It includes a robust chassis, powerful engine, and superior towing capacity, making it an ideal vehicle to navigate diverse terrains and enable swift responses to emergencies.
The Public Safety Training & Response Group Dodge Ram is also the preferred vehicle for delivering services via our Fotokite Tethered Intel Gathering and Monitoring System.
Also in the land-based fleet is the Ford Everest Command Vehicle, which is engineered to handle many diverse terrains, is versatile and reliable.
With its robust design, powerful engine, and 4WD off-road capabilities, our Ford Everest Command Vehicle can access remote and challenging locations, which is crucial for effective response in disaster-stricken areas
Our Ford Everest command vehicle emerges as an indispensable assistant vehicle in rescue operations, seamlessly combining rugged capability with advanced features. It’s is also the secondary vehicle for our Fotokite system, and with its large rear screen is ideal for RPAS (drone) Monitoring or Mapping, including thermal and LiDAR mapping services.
All these vehicles form part of the overall suite of emergency response assets owned and operated by Public Safety Training & Response Group, including helicopters (also offering commercial and private helicopter piloting and charters), Inflatable Rescue Boats, jet skis and necessary support equipment.
“We are a big believer in public-private partnerships in emergency response – our group manages and maintains these vehicles privately, along with many other assets, to be ready to work alongside government responders as needed, to overcome the dangers facing the community.”
Public Safety Training & Response Group is committed to training people to save themselves and rescuing those who can’t.
