The Inland Rescue Swimmer is focused on the inland open water environment to include areas such as lakes or ponds of various sizes.
This is a 16-hour course for those aged 18 and above. You are required to have already completed Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT). Participants must already be a confident swimmer.
Safety of the swimmer is a high priority during this module while training for victims in the open water environment, including interventions and medical management. You will practice both shore and boat based open water search techniques, as well as recovery of submerged victims.
Located in Oxley, Brisbane, the Public Safety Training and Response Group headquarters provides a realistic simulated environment to deliver accessible training courses.
